Hell’s Gate National Park lies to the south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya. It is characterized by towering cliffs, deep gorges, rock towers, extinct volcanoes, geothermal springs, and warm temperatures, hence the name. It is one of only two parks where you can walk or cycle alongside herds of diverse wildlife without an official Kenya Wildlife Service escort.

Other interesting features to enjoy during a hells Gate visit include the rock climbing at the Fischer’s Tower, formerly a volcano’s plug or take a hike along the Njorowa Gorges. Olkaria and Hobley are extinct volcanoes that are also worth visiting; natural steam vents rise from fissures in the volcanic rock.
