Samburu Game Lodge

It is set within the Samburu  National Reserve in northern Kenya, on the western bank of the Euaso Nyiro River. It lies a mere 320km from Nairobi, home to a variety of animals and birds that are rarely seen in other parts of the country e.g. Beisa oryx, Grevy’s Zebra. Onsight is the sheer-sided slopes of the majestic ol olokwe mountain, the Euaso Nyiro River, where large herds of elephants are seen along its banks. Other animals you can see include the lion, cheetah, leopards.

There are cottages, rooms and suites totalling 61 and all accommodations have en suite bathrooms, some with baths, and all have private balconies where one can overlook the river. Also available are family rooms, a room specially designed to accommodate those with special needs.

There is a restaurant(Lorokushu Restaurant) which is designed in exquisite style overlooking the Euaso Nyiro river and can accommodate 120 guests. The ‘Crocodile’ bar allows a close view of crocodiles, monitor lizards and once in a while elephant and leopard. The Vulturine bar is an area where Samburu’s abundant and unique birdlife can be seen through the day and evening overlooking the river. There’s a swimming pool available and it also has a bar that serves drinks and refreshments all day every day. A dining arena is set aside for entertainment during most afternoons by the Samburu men and women, dressed in their traditional finery.
