For those who would like peace and tranquillity, a place to feel nature’s embrace, Larsen’s Camp is for you. It is located 320km, North of Nairobi, in Samburu National Reserve on the borders of the Uaso Nyiro River.
It contains 20 free-standing luxurious tents that also have a balcony. All tents lie along the banks to enable you to be bathed with light at the break of dawn. The tents contain on-suite private bathrooms stocked with toiletries, flushing toilets, constant hot water, 24hour electricity and 1 king-size or 2 twin beds designed in chic safari style.
There’s a dining tent which is open on three sides and faces the river. Here, a first-class dinner is elegantly served. In the bar, you can enjoy your drink while you play backgammon or chess on Eric Larsen’s original boards.
Larsen’s doesn’t have a pool but for those who would want to swim, they can use the facilities at the nearby Samburu Lodge free of charge.
There’s a campfire each evening and this gives guests an opportunity to make new friends and talk about safari pioneers that were there in yesteryears. A treehouse is also available where one can enjoy a sundowner as they look onto the plains as the animals walk by. Entertainment is displayed between 2.30 pm-3.00 pm courtesy of the Samburu people.
While at this camp you can be involved in certain activities and excursions. There are game drives, bird walks, champagne breakfast prepared by our uniformed chefs. Sunset cocktails and other drinks can be served on the riverbank while watching the spectacular sunset. There is also the Gala dinner in which you can mark a special occasion or send a special message to your loved one.
