Begin your experience of a Kenya safari at Rhino Watch Lodge. Your first destination will be the Rhino Watch Lodge where you will arrive in time for lunch. The Lodge is located around the Mt Kenya region. Mt Kenya is Africa's second highest peak and regarded as the realm of Ngai "god" of the local Kikuyu people. It was also known as Kirinyaga meaning 'place of light’. The mountain is an awe-inspiring sight. You will spend two nights here. Overnight at lodge (B,L,D)
Naivasha is your next destination. This largely horticultural town is home to Lake Naivasha, one of the fresh water lakes on the Rift Valley floor. For your afternoon you may opt to explore Crescent Island, a private secure wildlife sanctuary surrounded by the waters of Lake Naivasha otherwise you may fill your days at leisure. Overnight at lodge (B,L,D)
Breakfast and morning activities. After lunch, transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Kenya’s legendary Maasai Mara. Arrival at 16.00 hrs and transfer to your luxury lodge, set on the banks of the Mara River in the richest game viewing section of the park. Only eight large riverfront tented chalets are built on raised mahogany platforms to provide safety from hippos, elephants and buffalos roaming through the Lodge at night in search of food and water. Each chalet has been individually decorated with artistically handcrafted furniture and opens onto a large verandah overlooking the breathtaking river scenery. Dinner and overnight in Maasai Mara (FB)
The famous Maasai Mara is your next destination. Kenya is definitely the home of the original safari. Even before getting to the reserve itself, you will begin to feel the wild with sightings of animals roaming around. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in. You will head on out for your first game drive at 1600hrs. If lucky you will get an opportunity to see the ‘King’ of the Jungle among other species such as elephants, buffalos, rhinos, the elusive leopard and several herbivores unique to this region such as the topi. Overnight at lodge (B,L,D)
From the runways of Milan to Paris, the Maasai influence is felt far and wide as is evident in several designers’ collections like the famous Louis Vuitton. Before breakfast you will have an early morning game drive and explore the Maasai Mara National Reserve, considered as one of the world’s natural wonders; it is a place not to be missed. Marvel at the beauty of the hills and the plains, not forgetting the Maasai people whose beautiful clothes and bead work will inspire you. Would it not be magnificent if you owned a piece of the Maasai culture? Well, not to worry you get an opportunity to observe and buy their dresses, beadwork and art. Overnight at lodge (B,L,D)
Check-out after breakfast and embark on your journey to the coast of Mombasa, particularly the south coast in Diani. You will have a brief stop-over in Nairobi for lunch (on own arrangements) before transferring to the airport to catch your an evening flight to Mombasa. The Swahili beaches are a world removed from the plains and mountains up-country and a good environment to enjoy some sun, sea and sand. Overnight at beach hotel (B,D)
You will get to experience these days at your own leisure. Enjoy the walks by the beach or relax as you soak up the sun. Optional activities here will include diving at Diani Marine (at own cost) or you can just relax at the beach for some well deserved rest and relaxation. Overnight at beach hotel (B,D)
This sadly marks our final day of fun. You will be transferred to Mombasa Airport for your flight to Nairobi.
