On arrival you will have lunch at the Aberdare Country Club before afternoon transfer to the Ark.

This lodge is known as a tree hotel uniquely shaped to resemble Noah’s Ark, with decks from which one can have full view of the animals at the watering holes. Aberdare is famously known for the many freedom fighters’ hideouts prior to Kenya’s independence, in addition to hiking, walking. Dinner and overnight rest at the Ark.

Ashnil Samburu Camp, Samburu

Day 2
Aberdare – Samburu
With an early start we depart for Kenya’s northern hemisphere towards Buffalo Springs in Samburu. We will pass through the different towns of Nanyuki and Isiolo leaving behind the backdrop of Mt Kenya before we reach this reserve. Buffalo Springs Reserve just like Samburu Reserve is home to the big five as well as the unique five i.e the Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe and the Somali Ostrich. We arrive in time for lunch before taking our late afternoon game drive. We return to the lodge at 1800hrs for dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu

Day 3
Samburu
This day will be fully covered by game drives before breakfast and after lunch. The aim is to possibly get a chance to view some of the wild animals that can only be found in this park as well as catch glimpses of the big Five. Not to be missed is an opportunity to visit the crocodile and hippo filled Ewaso Nyiro River which means the place of brown and muddy water, that runs through the Samburu area right into the beds of Lake Natron in Tanzania. After an exciting day we return to the Ashnil Samburu Camp for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 4
Samburu National Park
Another full day mainly covered by game drives in the park to enjoy the best wildlife experience of Northern Kenya. We hope to explore the park further hoping to catch any missed opportunities of our previous two days. Dinner and overnight rest at Ashnil Samburu Camp.

Ol Pejeta ConservancyDay 5
Samburu- Ol Pejeta
Our next destination is the Ol Pejeta conservancy situated on the outcasts of Nanyuki town. After check-in at the lodge and lunch, we head out to the conservancy which houses the largest black rhino sanctuary in Kenya in addition to getting to meet the young and friendly rhino called Max. The Ol Pejeta was for many years the playground of armaments millionaire Adnan Kashoggi but today carries one of the highest wildlife densities in Kenya. Dinner and overnight rest at Serena Sweetwaters.

Day 6
Ol Pejeta
On this day we spend the day at leisure and opt to go out for game drives to maximise the chances of seeing the big five. We shall also visit the Chimpanzee sanctuary the only one of its kind housing orphaned or rescued chimps from illegal trade and giving them a home in an almost natural environment. Dinner and overnight rest at Serena Sweetwaters.

Day 7
Ol Pejeta – Lake Baringo
We leave behind the magnificent sceneries of Nanyuki and depart for Lake Baringo for a day trip. We arrive and take a boat ride on Lake Baringo. The lake is at the threshold of Northern Kenya, and its freshwaters are an oasis in the arid plains. This is the traditional home of the Njemps tribe, a unique people who are the only pastoral, cattle herding, tribe who also fish. The 129 sq km lake is well stocked with fish, and attracts many Pelicans, Cormorants and Fish Eagles. The Lake is also well populated with Crocodiles. The lake itself is truly beautiful, surrounded by volcanic ranges that stretch as far as the eye can see. Dinner and overnight rest at Lake Baringo Country Club

Day 8
Lake Baringo – Nakuru
We drive in a northerly direction to Nakuru which is the administrative headquarters of Kenya’s rift valley province. The town overlooks Lake Nakuru – a lake described by many orthinologists as the home of the greatest bird spectacle in the world i.e. the greater and lesser flamingoes.
Our destination is the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge found within the boundaries of Lake Nakuru National Park and we arrive in time for lunch and spend the rest of the early afternoon at leisure. At 1600hrs we take an afternoon game drive of Lake Nakuru National Park where we are likely to see the big four – minus the elephant as well as the white rhino and Rothschild’s giraffe. We may also be lucky to come across the endangered Black Rhino among other mammalian species. Dinner and overnight rest at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

Day 9
Lake Nakuru – Nairobi
We return for an early morning game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. We could also visit the baboon cliff and lion hill viewpoints to catch a bird’s eye view of the park and enjoy the scenery. After breakfast we depart for Nairobi through the Old Naivasha-Nakuru Road, which cuts through the Rift Escarpment. On the right we could possibly view Mount Longonot which provides a spectacular view on a clear day. We arrive at the city in time for lunch (on own arrangements) and transfer to the next destination
