Uganda

Commonly referred to as the Pearl of Africa, the Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, within which it shares borders with Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda’s star attraction is the endangered mountain gorilla, the bulkiest of living primates, and among the most peaceable.

RIVER NILE
River Nile is the longest river in Africa with Lake Victoria as its source. The river starts it 6,500km journey to the Mediterranean Sea (Egypt). The river also holds the Owen Falls Dam the source of hydro electricity for Uganda with one other dam under construction currently.

CITIES

  • Kampala is a bustling African city. A visit to the Tombs of Buganda Kings at Kasubi is a great way to spend an entire day in this city. The tombs are a world heritage site.
  • Entebbe is built around the shores of Lake Victoria and is primarily active as the location of the airport, The Uganda Government house, the State House, was relocated to the town of Entebbe in November 2007. The drive to or from Kampala takes approximately an hour.
  • Jinja is the world-famous source of the Nile, which is particularly popular for white-water rafting as well as other adventure activities such as bunjee jumping or a cruise from the Source of the Nile
